Well today is my last day in the MTC. Once again bitter sweet day, I want to go out and get to work bible slapping people, but it's a little nerve wracking to be traveling that far. Also i'm gonna miss the MTC, kinda. All things considered though, i'm glad I decided to come out on a mission. Well, I have to get up at 4:00 am tommorow to get to the airport to catch my 8:15 flight. 'Night

May 02, 2007

Well here I am, at the end of my first day in Georgia. We got up at 4:00 am and did some last minute clean up work to get the room ready for the next set to come through. After the clean up we hauled our bags out to the front gate of the MTC and loaded them onto the busses, after we had some cereal at the lunch room that is. For some odd reason though we ended up on the shuttle instead of the bus. But it's all good. The drive was nice and quiet. When we got to the airport and made it through security I was able to call my friends and family. I first called my mom and dad and chatted w/ then a bit, then I called PoE1. It was still like 7:00 so he was all kinds of groggy when he picked up. Anyway the flight was about 3 hours and then I was in a freaking sauna, I mean I was in Georgia. Pres. Evanson and his wife met us there and we all took pictures, went to the mission home, had a delicious meal, wrote home, and I get to sleep in the "princess" room. 'Night

Day 2 in Macon...gone.

Nothin', doin' orientation, transfer meetin', drive to Nashville, meet my companion (western hick gone southern if you ask me) and dinked around unpacking all day. Oh my companion's name is Elder Mortensen. 'Night

May 04, 2007

Another day gone.

Man it's passing like mad, but hey it's cool. The smoke from the 2 forest fires burning here in Georgia is getting pretty thick, at least i'm finally getting used to the smell. Anyway we didn't really teach any real "lessons", we did however talk to some of the investigators, there all pretty good people. Doing the "OYM" (open your mouth) was a little nerve wracking but once I got started it got easy. We did the OYMing in between tracting and teaching. 'Night

May 05, 2007

Ok, so i'm an idiot, Elder Mortensen and myself went with the spikes to get dinner and I planned to leave a passalong card, as it turns out though all I had were SPANISH passalongs. That means that everyone I OYMed yesterday got a Spanish passalong. The number on the Spanish card is different from the number on the English card :-(.

Oh well, it's raining right now (9:50 pm) and I mean HARD. Lightning, thunder, the whole 9 yards, it's great.

We didn't really do much teaching, except for Lynda Wood, because we went to the Griners and helped them build a playhouse for Taylor. It was fun, hot, but fun. 'Night

May 06, 2007

Well, as you can tell from the date above, it's Sunday, PEC, church, corolation. Nothing real exciting, pretty boring actually. During gospel principals I kept comming up with all kinds of applicable scriptures. but I couldn't remember where any of them were at. I was all bummed out and stuff.

Anyway after corolation meeting we came home and studied for awhile, and by study I mean slept.

At 4:00 we had a home teaching round up which is basically a fancy name for splits. I went w/ Bro. Golden the 2nd councelor in the Bishopric to do a Spanish referal, and seeing as it was Spanish I just sat there and twiddled my thumbs. Well... 'Night

Another day gone by, it was a good day though... It was P-Day. We spent the first part of the day as usual, studying. Then we went to Harvies to get milk. Then it was off to Valdosta to give the car to the missionaries. We hightailed it to the mall to find me a Camelbak. No luck though. Apparently, here in Georgia, if it doesn't have anything to do w/ baseball, football, or hunting, you won't find it. So we just went to the park and met up with the sisters and played baseball. For the first part, I just sat out, then I decided to have a bit of fun and show 'em how a martial artist plays ball. After the park it was off to the Wall (Wall-Mart for those of you not in the know) and finished our shopping. We found a ride back with Bro. Solomin to Nashville. Then I met Van and we taught him about the degrees of glory as well as D&C and Pearl of Great Price. Well, i'm out... 'Night

May 08, 2007

Weird, weird, double weird, John Spikes, our branch mission leader, is out in the front room buzzing Elder Mortensen's hair. I can hear the shears buzzing away as we speak. Anyhoozits, teaching as usual today. Well, if you don't count meeting the Davies for the first time only to find out that there grandmother is dieing of cancer. It's sad but it's probably best in the long run. She isn't all that healthy anyway.

Later we OYMed this drunk dude who talked for like a half hour about "feeling the spirit". Killed most of our OYMing time, so we really had to high tail it to finish up in time. Well... 'Night

May 09, 2007

Well I'm a little sore. We biked out to the Morcrums and it was only 6 miles round trip, but it felt a lot longer, but on the other hand sister Leet gave us a freaking awesome roast for dinner. It was yummy and the cupcakes for dessert were awesome too. Well.... 'Night

May 10, 2007

Journal tiiime. Today was zone meeting. We had what they called a zone blitz, basically we ran around with a new companion, temporarily of course, and did missionary work as well as a million other useless things like: run around a car 10 times, get some one to do a cartwheel, trade belts with someone, greet everyone in the room within 30 seconds, and eat a Zero candy bar. As well as a plethora of other...things.

Anyway, after the blitz we had the actual meeting which was more like a training session, and well, it was, but whatever.

Once we got home we went to a baseball game and had a ball. Well i'm getting tired. 'Night

May 11, 2007

*Cries* I forgot to write this day, and now I can't remember *cries more*

May 12, 2007

Not a lot goin' on today. Kinda boring except for when we went to the Woodys and I gave the oldest boy (6) a "mock" martial arts lesson. Although i'm a little worried that I may have done more bad then good. Oh well, all I can really do is pray and thats just what i'll do. 'Night

May 13, 2007

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday...again.

Well today was mother's day and I got to call home. I did so from the Spike's house. We talked for about 45 minutes. Then everyone ran out of stuff to say, so we all said goodbye and ended it. I didn't really want to but it couldn't be helped.

I spoke in church today, it was basically just an introduction, and telling how my mother influenced my coming on a mission.

Other then that stuff Lynda Wood came to church for the 3rd time this week. We have high hopes for her. We're thinking of Baptizing her in a months time. 'Night

May 14, 2007

Yay! P-Day! We did a little shoping at Harvies, then scrambled around for a bit to clean, eat, and find a ride to Valdosta. I never mentioned it before but we share a car with the elders in Valdosta, aka, V-Town. So we switch off every week.

In V-Town we played a little ball, but had to find a ride back, taking the car back to Nashville would have been pointless. We would have just driven it back the next day for our district meeting. Once back in Nashville we ran around OYMing and junk, headed back here and proceeded to make my head hurt by planing for tommorow, seriously, it will be a miracle if I survive the day. 'Night

May 15, 2007

Well, district meeting was today. It was a bit different zone meeting though. We still had the training but after we came back to Nashville with Elders Florance and Rich and did exchanges. I started out with Elder Florance trying to be useful but wasn't. We ended up going back to the apartment and talking about seraphim and stuff. Next it was Elder Rich, we went with Pres. Spikes and met with a few random people. We came home and goofed around too. 'Night

May 16, 2007

Anywhozits Elders Florance and Rich went back to V-Town this morning. Not much going on after that. We did OYM the people at the local Gamestop type place. It was fun THEY invited US in. But other then that, pretty boring day. 'Night

May 17, 2007

*Editors note: Justin put this one in stack after the 18th, he says for a reason*

Today was the. wait a tick. Some thing wrong here, oh well. Yeah today was the day that did not happen. Nothing got done the last half of the day. We stayed in the whole time and played Risk. Ah whatever, 'Night

May 18, 2007

*Editors Note: Justin put this one in the stack before the 17th, he says for a reason*

Oh fudge, I just swallowed a bunch of air and now it won't come up. Oh well, today was good. Planning for the first half, walking around town for the second. We ended up at the Woodys planing a movie just to shut the little ones up.

I got a package from home today, and it had my speakers, but CD player? Oh well. 'Night

May 19, 2007

So tired...day...hazy...Saw Browns...Saw Mays, cool car...other...Brother Brown...Badly Burned...ZZZZZZ *Snore* 'Night *Snore*

May 20, 2007

Holy cow did I really write that last entry, oh well. P.E.C. was the same, church was the same, no corolation study. sleep, Davies, Josh Ellis, Mileys not home. We wanted to go to the stake priesthood meeting but the zone leaders, here on going is ZL, wouldn't let us so Elder Mortensen just fumed all day. 'Night

May 21, 2007

I had a crazy dream last night. The moon was all big and stuff and it glowed green, then blew up, then I woke up.

Anyway, P-Day again, no b-ball just shoping and waiting around pretty crappy day. Oh well. 'Night

May 22, 2007

Dist. meeting today not as fun as the last one but whatever. After the meeting we came back and read with Martha, we also taught her a second. I've come to the conclusion that being bold comes more natural then timid.

Anyway after Martha we went to the baseball field and watched some gator/member games while there we managed to teach an investigator that we picked up earlier in the week. Her husband coaches the t-ball team that Taylor Griner plays on. Well my arm is about to fall off so, 'Night

May 23, 2007

Nothing real notable about today, except for finding out that an old guy, in a nursing home, that we have been visiting every week is a survivor of d-day. Frontlines even. Elder Mortensen had a hay day and I really wanted to pop him in the face. He kept talking about it like Talmage, the old guys name is Talmage Davis, was a kind of god. Man he pissed me off. 'Night

May 24, 2007

Bah humbug. I forgot to mention yesterday, I had forgotten my back pack in the apt. so I went to get it. I tried to go up the curb on my bike but I wasn't able to pop the tire high enough so I biffed it and flew over the handlebars.

Anyway we went to the pre-k grad ceremony this morning and watched little Taylor graduate. It was funny and boring at the same time. 'Night

May 25, 2007

We met Bro. Miley's kids today, they're all girls, 'cept one, and they're all cheerleaders, 'cept one, and i'll tell you what the oldest one has some wicked skills. H.S. graduation, lotsa jerks on the road. Most try to insult us but to no avail. On the other hand I found that I had left my back pack open twice while biking. So I felt pretty dumb at that one, oh well. 'Night

May 26, 2007

Well today was entertaining. We spent the morning with the Spikes but the afternoon was spent at a branch Bar-B-Q at which we completely pissed off Lulu. She kept asking Mortensen about John and he just kept ignoring her, it was funny.

After the BBQ there were a lot of leftovers so we ended up with a lot of food that night. 'Night

May 27, 2007

Well Sunday with a twist. We went by the Davies house yesterday and no one was there, and there was a note on the door saying that they were in Adel. We had our suspicions but we didn't think much of it. Well today we found out that we were right. Sis Davies mother finally passed on. Which made today pretty hectic. Mortensen spent all day playing phone tag trying to arrange the funeral, which I just found out that we can't even go to, and this came all the way from SLC. Anyway, it doesn't sound like a whole lot but trust me...it was. 'Night

May 28, 2007

P-Day as usu...no, it wasn't completely normal. We had the Spikes take us to the Wal-Mart in Valdosta, where we met Elders Florance and Rich. A little of this a little of that. Some baseball, tractin, whatever. We came home and went to see the Davies and were suprised to see that they had made a complete 180. Everything was different. They were all happy and junk.

Anyway we then stoped in on the Mileys and they were playing Guitar Hero, and the music was driving me nuts. I felt like just droping everything and going home and putting on some metal. But thats OP (off the plan) any whozits we weren't able to e-mail at Joshes so we're just going to go to the library tommorow morning. 'Night
